CLI command
skarbiec attach
Keep a file — a recovery sheet, a licence file, an SSH config — encrypted in the vault beside the accounts it belongs to.
Invocation#
skarbiec attach <id> <file> [--tags <tag,...>]Purpose#
Keep a file — a recovery sheet, a licence file, an SSH config — encrypted in the vault beside the accounts it belongs to.
Required inputs and options#
- The new item id and the file, relative to the working directory or absolute; --tags as set takes them.
Output and state effects#
- Reads the file and writes a bundle item holding file_name (the file's own name) and content_base64 (its bytes), the shape the 1Password import writes for an attachment, encrypted to the vault owner and recovery like any item; appends file-attached with the item, file name and size, and prints ok, item, file_name and bytes. The content is never printed. POST /v1/operator/items/attach takes id, an absolute path and tags on the machine the app runs on; Desktop's Items → Attach a file calls it.
Refusals#
- A missing id or file exits 2 with the usage. An id that exists is refused with `<id> already exists; attach creates an item and never replaces one`; a file that cannot be read fails naming it; a reserved or unregistered tag is refused as set refuses it. The operator route refuses a path that is not absolute.
