Invocation#

skarbiec audit epoch --reason <text>

Purpose#

Start a signed audit epoch only after acknowledging an already-broken chain.

Required inputs and options#

• Requires a non-empty --reason and an owner signing key in the configured vault/keyring.

Output and state effects#

• Rechecks the chain, signs a checkpoint containing the previous tail and faults, appends an entry with the operation audit-epoch-start, and prints signer, previous_tail, and hash.

Refusals#

• --reason is required; audit journal is intact; refusing to create an unnecessary epoch; a missing signer; or a journal whose tail changes while the checkpoint is prepared.
